First it was the s4s then the radian now the scott tidal is making a very strong statement in our mind at grabbing the best salt rod for the money category. Your 8wt mangrove is a softer rod than the tidal and the aetos is lighter and a faster rod but not quite the lifting power as the other 2. It looks like the meridian s younger sibling with the same attractive un sanded blank and nice blue green wraps. While the tidal falls short of the performance of the meridian that s to be expected from a mid priced rod series.

Scott tidal fly rod review 2014 was not the most exciting year for fly rods. The tidal is not overly heavy but not nearly as light in hand as the meridian. Jim bartschi is really at the top of the industry and the top of his game at the moment. Not super fast but is a great fishing rod with some good lifting power.

The three major releases that happened were in the value space the tidal the nexus and the accel sort of. Scott has come out with a fly rod that epitomizes value packed saltwater performance. Scott tidal review scott just keeps pumping out category favorites. The scott title is a sweet rod.

I find that if i wax the ferrules once and then tape with every use it s all good. A minor drawback for an outstanding rod. The scott tidal is very nice mid priced saltwater offering from scott. Sure sage released the new salt which we also reviewed here but there were no other releases of marquee rods and nothing that made me rethink my quiver.
